So, how'd we get here?
It started with a QR code on a pizza box. No, really.
A friend printed a thousand flyers for a local show. QR code on every one. Day-of, the venue changed. Suddenly every flyer was pointing at the wrong address. A thousand paper bricks.
That's when it hit us: URL shorteners are stuck in 2005. They make a link shorter and call it a day. Need the link to expire after your event? Nope. Password-protect it? Ha. Put that QR code on a hoodie? Dream on.
So we built the thing we wished existed.
SHCD.US isn't just a shortener. It's a link that can change its mind. Expire on a date. Lock behind a password. Show up on a t-shirt via Printful. Track who clicked, when, and where. All from one link you generated once.
The pizza box guy? He's a user now. He doesn't print paper bricks anymore.

Features over paywalls
Time-gating, password protection, expiration, analytics — these aren't locked behind some $300 enterprise plan. They start at $2/mo. We didn't make you call a sales rep to schedule when a link dies. That's just mean.
Built for you, not a board room
We answer to users, not shareholders. Every feature we ship came from someone asking "hey, can it do this?" — not from a quarterly PowerPoint.
Zero dark patterns
No hidden fees. No "upgrade to see pricing." No 12-step cancellation maze. Plans, features, prices — all in the open. You can leave anytime. (We'll be sad, but we won't make it a process.)

Okay, but why "shcd.us"?
Two reasons.
One: It's six characters. When you're squeezing a link onto a sticker, a business card, or a bathroom stall, every character is precious. Short domains look better, fit anywhere, and people actually type them in.
Two: It's fun. Say it out loud right now. "Shick-dus." "Sh-cod-us." We've heard eight different pronunciations from our own team. Nobody agrees. We refuse to pick one. You're welcome.
